Is it grounded properly in a three prong outlet? It sounds like the (metal?) surface of your projector is attracting oppositely charged dust particles. I have seen some electrostatic air cleaners create problems like that with electronic equipment.

I dust off my system with a densely made ostrich feather duster. It does a fantastic job with no scratches left behind. Super light and super soft, and just a light touch with the tips of the feathers knocks everything away. I shake the feather duster outside once in awhile to clean it off. It was given to me some 20 years ago, and it still looks and works like new. There's no way I'm going to use any of the "plastic wands" or other synthetic surfaces for dusting purposes.
It looks a lot like the one shown below, only on mine, the feathers are light brown and much slimmer and more delicate in quality. ![]() Minimum once a week. Black glass shelves get dusty-looking very quickly! |
