Warner Home Video has revealed the technical specs and special features for the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'Being There', which is due to hit store shelves on February 3rd. Video will be presented as 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a mono Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. This is a change from the previous announcement, and a very welcome addition to the disc.

Extras for this release include:

Memories from Being There
Two recently discovered deleted scenes
Alternate ending
Gag reel
Theatrical trailer.


I picked this one up yesterday... Anyone else watch it yet... any comments? I think the image quality is the best I've seen it. It was noted by several online reviews that it may / or has had some DNR in certain scenes most notably the street scenes when Chance goes out in the world.

I don't think the film will ever look better. It is a really great film that somehow made it on Blu-Ray.

Only quip that RED "sticker" that is actually part of the cover art. It would have been nice if it was a sticker on the wrapper, I think we all know to look at the back cover for bonus features.

I was hoping that "alternate ending" was an end credits sequence that didn't have the stupid bloopers that completely undermined the last scene that came right before it.

Oh well, I'll still pick it up when it's on sale.

I second that the film is almost perfect and I read Sellers fought having those bloopers cut from the end. I don't understand why they did that It breaks the mood of the film I try to stop the film right after it fades.

That and the first time I saw the film I thought the MacLaine bedroom scene was a bit overdone, I read Eberts review about a month ago and he said the same thing about that scene.

The transfer is really good though, so it is worth a buy.
