Default Rumor: RR remaking Predator

According to B-D, Robert Rodriguez might be remaking Predator. I know, it's everyones mentality to hate remakes, but with Rodriguez behind it, this could be one badass movie. Opinions?

*edit* sorry, I misread it, he will be producing apparently.

I don't think the original needs to be remade. However, I welcome a new Predator movie that doesn't suck like AVP AVP-R.

no. Just no! Horrible idea! It won't even work without Arnold! And what's wrong with the original! Make a third if you need to have another!

Why remake a classic?! It will suck! Better with a sequel.

Why not?

We could just replace him with one of today's action stars like Matt Damon or Shia Labouf.

You have to read the article, it is a reboot, not a remake. He isn't ruining the story (I do like the first Predator) and I wouldn't mind seeing this if it is made especially if Rodriguez is directing because he is a fantastic director and has made great films. (Sin City, Planet Terror)

f*** NO!!!! This is absurd. The first is a classic. Why would it need remade, it doesn't. Like everyone else said, just make a new one that doesn't suck like all the others. People need to get original, I'm so sick of this crap hollywood!

Ah yes! More reboot where today young generation in Hollywood can take pretty much everything that was done in the past, call it a reboot and just make it 1000 worst then the original

WELL THEN WHAT THE HECK IS THE DIFFERENCE. REBOOT/REMAKE; 6 OF ONE HALF DOZEN OF THE OTHER. IT'S ALL THE SAME FREAKING THING. QUIT CALLING THEM REBOOTS, THAT'S JUST A COP OUT FOR WE'RE OUT OF IDEAS SO WE'RE GOING TO TAKE SOMETHING SOMEONE ELSE HAS ALREADY DONE AND RE-DO IT WITH NEW SPECIAL EFFECTS AND NEW ACTORS.

I'm just going to stop even wondering what Hollywood is thinking... I don't care if it's a RE-"boot" or RE-"make" or whatever -- the whole thing is becoming RE-TARDED.

The whole genius behind these flicks was in their originality. People have no imagination anymore...

andyman, "remake" is not a good word. Now people use "reboot", and when people catch on to the true definition of "reboot", they'll use other secret synonyms, such as "reimagining" or "revisioning".

well hopefully RR will make this a continuation or a sequel and not an actual remake. I think having RR's fingerprints on this film is actually a good thing compared to some of the other people who could be involved. Just hope they get it right

The only time reboots should ever be considered are when the originals sucked. Hence Tomb Raider.
