Default Grindhouse Blu's? To Buy or not to buy!

I remember seeing this in the theater when it came out, mind you I'm a Tarantino/Rodriguez fan for sure, but does anybody know when this will be released in it's proper form? I liked all the fake trailers and stuff, very original,It looked all beat upi, cluding a missing reel! like old drive in exploitaion classics of yesteryear!!! I just cant fugure out why with all of the space now available on Blu ray's why they couldnt just make it the way it was made to be seen! I understand the Kill Bill's,they were released seperatly,so that's fine. But this was one big double feature,I worked at a Multiplex at the time and that print took almost the whole platter!!! I also thought they were going to release that Danny Trejo film(Machete) that had a fake trailer into a reel feature! No here's the question,I was going to buy Death Proof and Planet Terror form Amazon's % off sale, are they worth the buy or should I just wait until a better version comes along,It's also weird that the prices are different for each!?!?

I would say buy them. There's no telling how long you'll wait for the complete Gridhouse film from the theatre. I think Planet Terror is a little more because thay added a cleaned up version on the blu.

Just recently bought both in the previous sale they had. B2G1 free

I have seen the planet terror extended cut twice. I rented the first time because like you I was skeptical after seeing in theaters which I really loved. I liked the extended cut then, and the second viewing, this past weekend was even better. I haven't had time to watch Deathproof. The way I see it, you will love planet terror. My friend who didn't like deathproof in theaters actually liked the extended cut better. Either way, if you bought planet terror: which I suggest, why not just throw in Death proof to complete the "collection". I think you would be pleased

There certainly looking to release them together. I think their just double dipping the consumer. They've release the theatrical cut/both extended cuts box set in Japan. They are looking to release that set in Germany I believe it is in the next couple of months.

There are always tenative plans with Tarantino and Rodriguez, we're still waiting on Kill Bill The Whole Bloody Affair, Sin City 2, Barbarella, The Vega Brothers etc. etc. I'm pretty sure Grindhouse 2 got quashed when the first bombed at the box office. Rodriguez was supposedly going to make "Machete" a direct to video thing, Barbarella was going to be his next project, but I heard he couldn't secure financing due to Rose Mcgowan.

As for Eli Roth/Edgar Wright rumors... I'm not sure where the Edgar Wright stuff came from as his next 2 or 3 projects are already lined up, but Eli Roth was talking about making a movie of just fake trailers called "Trailer Trash" http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/grin..._trailer_trash Unfortunately that was going to come out about two years ago so I don't think it's happening, considering his next thing is "Cell".

You can get the whole thing on a japanese region 2 import DVD box set http://xploitedcinema.com/catalog/gr...n-p-13665.html but other than that I say buy them now because it will probably be a while before this comes out in a "complete" edition.

In the meantime, if you have netflix you can stream the whole thing to your computer or via xbox.

if theyre even going to do this, there are a ton of other things in the pipeline first, i definitely dont see this happening, and if it does, were probably looking at 5-10 years down the road, how long have we been waiting for the whole bloody affair???

These are great titles. However, I am concerned as to why they cannot released them on a back-to-back for the full grindhouse effect.
