Default How much is my collection worth?

maybe i'm getting tired of buying bluray's that just sit on a shelf and i rarely watch or maybe i'm just curious as to how much i would get for them. but i was wondering what would be a serious offer you would give me if i were to put this on ebay? if you had none or only a couple of these movies? include shipping please. i'm seriously considering selling these but i don't know what would be a reasonable offer i just wanted an outside perspective.

This is why I only buy movies I like. So many peiople on here buy movies just cause they are on sale. I don't care if Cloverfield is only $19.99, I still don't need it.

not asking how much individually i'm saying if i sell it as a lot. i want to see what people think it's worth (seriously ) to see if it's even worth selling. i know that it's worth less than i paid that's why i'm asking the question. i know how much i paid for it.

400 dollars!? there's over 100 movies there. even if i wanted 10 dollars a piece i could easily get 1000 dollars.

IMO its not a good idea to sell it. you already hunkered down a huge amount just to buy it. its like investing in the stock market, waiting for your stocks to go down, then selling because you're tired of holding.

its also like buying a car, the value dramatically decreases the moment you drive it off the lot. just enjoy your blu's!

it's not a definate that i'll sell. i'm just trying to see if it's worth it. cause the longer you wait the less money you'll get. i know i'll see some again in a couple years in walmarts 5 dollar bin. and like i said. i have quite a few still sealed just collecting dust. i can always rent. i'm trying to get an idea.

Yeah.. don't settle for anything less than $1200 for your entire lot. That's just my opinion.

It would be REALLY heavy... at least $50 for shipping in a huge box but you'd have to pad it REALLY well.

edit: actually it wouldn't be THAT big of a box. Probably more like $25 in a medium sized box.

Sending it via Media Mail would really cut down on the costs there. I'm guessing that many movies would cost you less than twenty bucks, even with delivery confirmation.

Having read through the thread, I found it quite interesting as the impression I got was that you seem to have amassed a collection that you predominantly do not watch. Is it the idea that you have a larger collection than your local video store that interests you rather than actually watching the films themselves?

There also seems to be a high degree of indecision as to what you should do with the collection, it feels like one side of you is saying "get rid as I do want or need these discs" and the other is saying "I like the idea of a collection - keep them".

.
I still have them. i watch movies and i like not having to go to the video store if i have people over and wanted to watch something. i think i've decided to keep them. if i sold the movies, it's not like i'd do anything productive with the money anyway. i got so much disposable income it's not even funny. that's one of the reasons i own so many.

a lot of people buy used blus. i don't understand your question.

to answer your question about "who has the money....." just because some people have lost their jobs and are hurting doesn't mean the entire country has lost their job. i'm in the military and i'm no where near losing my job.
i'm sure i can find someone willing to spend over a grand on this collection. i'm positive i can. people are still spending money regardless of what the media is saying. they're just not spending as much as they were.

being "frugal" you'd think you wouldn't mind buying used.

I don't even have a blu-ray player, as stated in the Blu-ray to DVD thread that I started. I just like posting in here from time to time, jeeze.
