Paid $10 for mine. Works perfectly. There is another thread on this. Digital signals aren't as picky with interference. Go cheap.

OH GOD!! Here we go!!!!

Probably should just direct you to that thread that went through a couple months back about this!
Search for HDMI cables, there is a very lengthy, heated discussion on this very subject!

I agree.

Try the $10 cable, if you are already happy with the result why spend more. Mine cost $10 too and is working fine.

Unless it is totally junk and falling apart, I bet you if you do a blind "Pepsi" challenge, you will not be able to see the difference.

I would spend 10$ more on a more reputable brand. Like this XtremeMac XtremeHD HDMI to HDMI cable. Just because it says its for the Apple TV does not mean it wont work with anything else. It will work perfectly with any HDMI port. Its a good price too. I have a 50$ RCA cable that I love, but the PQ is no different than the XtremeMac.

I have a monster cable in my living room and a $30 something or other in my bed room. The difference isnt that noticeable, but you can tell.

I think you will be very happy with them. I bought some high gauge gold plated HDMI cables from monoprice.com. You will notice how thick the cables are (as thick is your index finger) . They reek of quality!

Default HDMI Cable

To be honest, I have a Monster Cable M1000 that costed around 150 USD connecting my Full HD 40" Samsung LCD TV and my Yamaha 2700 Reciever and a Monster Cable PS3 HDMI Cable for 99 USD connecting my PS3 and the reciever and a Profigold 99 USD HDMI cable connecting my Yamaha 1700 DVD Audio and SACD player to the reciever.

I dont see any reason to buy a 10 USD cable (please do not take it personaly, its just an example) if I have invested almost 5000 USD in the audio and video components.

I am not saying that the cables have to be neccesarily better, but compared to the whole investment, the cable price (even I accept that 350 USD for cables is no joke) is just another few bucks.

I just didnt wanted to compromise on the cables when I didnt compromised on the equipment. Just wanted to be sure that when I invested that much money into it, the output quality wouldnt be ruined by the cables.

Thats all, I havent tested any cheap cables, they might perform pretty good at the end of the day (and I actualy red a test, where they tested all variety of cables and there wasnt any significant difference between the cheap and expencive cables).

Have fun everybody

What TV are you hooking this up to? If your hooking it up to a 720p then there is no reason for a Monster. But if you are hooking it up to a 62" 1080p plasma display, then a Monster might be somthing to consider.

Hmmm.... let's see... do I need the regular nail clippers, or the gold-plated nail clippers?

I'll buy the gold-plated nail clippers, because I heard they sure do clip nice!

They might both just be gold-plated nail clippers and one just costs a lot more because of the name.
