Default CW is getting back to vampires! =)

http://www.tvguide.com/News/CW-Vampi...s-1002522.aspx

I'm hopeful. It's rare that a show about vampires isn't interesting. =]

The premise has huge potential!

"Vampire Diaries revolves around a young heroine who is the object of obsession of two brothers — both vampires, one good and one ... well, he's more complicated. The bloodsucking siblings fight for her soul, as well as dibs on other residents within their small town.

Williamson (Dawson's Creek, Scream) is penning the pilot with Julie Plec (Kyle XY), and will exec-produce."

Shame CBS didn't give Moonlight a better shot. The show was awesome

CBS tried that show twice. First with Forever Knight. Moonlight had almost the same synopsis.

Moonlight was a great show. The only Vamp show i've ever liked.

Well I'm hopeful because CW did Charmed, Buffy, Angel, Roswell, and Supernatural. They seem to have a handle on this kind of material.

I'm waiting for Tru Blood to come to Blu.

I'm a Williamson fan as I liked Dawson's Creek, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, and the Scream Trilogy (supposedly they are making a 4th), but this is clearly trying to follow the success of Twilight and True Blood. And even Buffy and Angel for that matter.

I wish they'd quit recycling so much.

It definetly is. Doesn't mean it can't be worthwhile and unique in it's own right.

By the way CW is not getting back to vampires because they never had them as I can recall. The WB did, but the CW never did.

Anything in the gist of Buffy, Angel, or Supernatural I'm good with. Otherwise, no. CW's obsession with the teen girl demographic keeps me pretty skeptical of their new stuff.

Sounds decent. Too bad Buffy and/or Angel still isn't on. Those were great! Problem with new shows now is that they aren't given enough time before being canned. Gotta atleast let some of the story unfold and the characters flesh out so you can get a feel for them.

Since WB merged with CW I count it.

It's true they rarely give these type of shows enough time to find an audience. I'm just glad anything like this is being made. Many have implied CW was just for shows like Gossip Girl now.

Exactly what I was thinking. The CW does cater to teen females over any other demographic group, so expect a lot of soap and angst in the mix.

Forever Knight wasn't a CBS show though. It was made in Canada a long time before the 'States picked it up from what I remember.
