Default Pirates 1 & 2, triple points Disney Movie Rewards

Just got an email...

Quote:
Now heave to and hear this buccaneers…collect triple points with the May 22 Disney Blu-ray Disc releases Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. That's a hefty haul of 375 points each if you enter the Magic Code found inside these 2-disc sets through June 16. ‘Tis a grand way to set sail for grand rewards!

(Triple point offer expires 6/16/07. Point value for each set returns to 125 on 6/17/07.)
Great news for anyone doing the Disney Movie Rewards program.

I actually have never participated in this program. Do you get points for any movies ? I have King Arthur on Blu-ray so far from disney and I have the Wild. Can I get points for those ?

All is revealed there. It's pretty cool. I don't have very many points yet and haven't gotten anything yet. Besides dvds and bds you get points for seeing movies in the theater also.

Pretty neat. I'll have to sign up. They actually have some cool free stuff. If you buy both, you will have enough points for Ducktales:

Ducktales is pimp!

I wonder why they're putting out PoTC in 2 disc sets, Blu Ray discs can handle both discs in one.

For those wondering, only Invincible, Chicken Little, and the two Pirates Blu-rays come with Movie Rewards points - the rest of the eligible films are DVDs. (Here's a list of Rewards films and how much each are worth.) For some weird reason, the Bridge to Terabithia DVD has points, but the Blu-ray doesn't - at least it's not listed on the site.

You can also earn points if you see Meet the Robinsons, Ratatouille or At World's End in the theatres this summer and mail in your ticket stub. New members can take a survey or two for 100 points each as well, I think.

And yes, it's only open to residents of Canada and the continental U.S. (50 states, no territories), like most prize programs... *sigh*

Also, the program isn't indefinite. You have until December 31st this year to enter prize codes into your account, and if you're redeeming any points for prizes, you have to do so by January 31st of '08. I don't know why they would want to end the program, since it's been so successful, but hey. Maybe they'll start something similar after that.

Canadians weren't eligible till a few months ago, but it's about time Canadians got a piece of something!

I wish it was open to the world though.

I just saw a UK TV advert for Deja Vu on DVD and Blu-ray between the end of 10.00pm Derren Brown: Trick or Treat and 10.30pm Peep Show.

http://www.tsurugi.co.uk/misc/dejavu_bluray.mp4 (you might need to whack up your volume temporarily)

I expect to see this from Sony and Fox now too!

If you want Disney to apply reward points all BD movies, then write to them. That way they'll take notice that A) you buy their BDs and B) you participate in their program.
