Default "Deja vu, you too?"

You ever watch a movie and it seems like it was written about you or even for you? Select scenes or dialogue that you have instant recognition. You wonder to yourself, "How did they do that?" Or maybe you think to yourself after/while watching a movie that the premise of the movie is so simple and direct that you wonder, "I could have told my story and made millions!?" Ever now and again this happens to me, I'll see a movie and feel like it was ripped right from my own head or cut right out of a "slice of my life" These things ever happen to you guys?

If a story is well written and well plot out this will happen. Afterall a good story will take the source from the human condition and while we sometimes feel like we are the only one to experience certain things, moments or troubles, they in fact touch everyone. A writer (a good one) will go inside himself to find these elements. Good chance that writer as experiences the same things you have.

Very well said. As I read your statement it then can be said that most everyones life can be told to make a movie, at least pieces of it. Which brings me back to the idea that it wouldn't take much to scoop out things that happen to you and yours in there lifes to spit out an interesting script...right? (of course you'd have to have the talent to do this well)

I posted this in another thread once but Ill share it again:

I once thought when I was alot younger "What would happen if life as you know it was a dream and one day you woke up"....then about 10 years later, they made the Matrix....damn...

Now they did have computers and crap and my idea didnt include that but hell, it was basically the same thing..lol

my new idea I have for a movie is about a Father and Mother team of serial killers who hide they're habit from their children until once day one stumbles upon Mom and Dads secret torture chamber and unearths the family secret.....now if this is made or is being made, Im giving up on my dream of writing a screen play...lol

I think all kids think that, at some point.

When I was a kid, I thought I made up a great story. Years later I watched It's A Wonderful Life, and felt like my idea was stolen.

As for the OP, no, never felt like a movie was about me, but I have had deja vu while watching one.

I've probably had a few days when I feel as though Falling Down is about me.
