Default Are you going on vacation this year?

Even though the economy is horrible my wife and I are still working so we are planning on going back to Maui again this Summer. Probably only a week and stay in Kaanapali again. I miss Maui.

Anyone else planning a vacation?

I hope so. I've had the good fortune to have friends living in Maui so I have been there 5 times but not for the last 8 years. It's truly amazing. Hoping to get back there soon.

I'm doing two vacations this year. Don't see any reason not to.

Nothing extravagant for me this year, perhaps a small vacation to the beach 3 hours away.

Planes tickets are getting cheap. I've missed the Onion Festival the last two trips my wife and I were there so hopefully we catch it this year.

Things never change there really. Even though it was crowded in 07 when I went I had a great time.

As a single 26 year old I don't really do vacations. My house is a fixer-upper so if I take any time off it will probably just be to work on the house/yard. I get any unused vacation time paid off at the end of the year so I'd rather not use much of my vacation time.
One reason I don't really like taking trips is how frustrating flying has become. It seems that every time I fly there are delays or cancellations or lost luggage and it just isn't worth the hassle.

I really wanna visit the new Cabo Wabo restaurant there. I think I will be sticking close to home for trips for a while but someday I hope to get back.

We've perfected our travels that we can get away with our carryon's alone. 1 rolling bag and a backpack each! Usually lasts us 1 week. We also tend to stay at condos and they will have washing machines.

My work doesn't pay out and once you reach the limit you're wasting so I use up all the time I can.

Yeah.... We spend all of our spare time, and money on our home.....

I joked with my wife, and told her when the "Hire a Husband" and "Handy-man at your Service" people quit putting business cards/flyers in our mailbox, we'll know our home is getting closer to finished

I think once I get a house I will be having the same mindset about vacations, using them for upkeep.

Going on a couple this year with the family. Lake Tahoe this spring, Yosemite National Park over the summer, and Hawaii in November.

Sort of abnormal this year...the last few years we have only done Yosemite and saved money by not going to Tahoe. We don't usually go to Hawaii, but some family friends offered their timeshare for a week for free...so we took it!

With everyone growing up and moving out/ already out (me), my parents want to spend this year together as a family. I can't complain!

me & the wife are going away for the weekend for our anniversay in April.

this'll be our 1st weekend away since our honeymoon, she got pregnant about a month and a half after our wedding. and now we have 2 kids so time away was not really an option.

plus she was not comfortable leaving the kids overnight anywhere.

other than that, my vacation is used on upkeep around the house or for use on 3 or 4 day weekends.

That was one thing my wife and I were seriously considering when we wanted to go on vacation. We kind of don't want to go just the two of us but more in a group of friends.

My fiance and I plan on visiting Moscow after we're married sometime. I'm looking forward to that.

I've been working out of town since around Thanksgiving. Planning on taking a couple weeks pretty soon. Probably spend my vacation at home. I'm getting sick of hotels and fast food.

Haven't had an actual vacation since summer '06. This year I'm in the wedding party for one that is held in Quebec (kinda have to go lol), and think I'll spend an extra week in Montreal etc.

I travel for a living, so I enjoy being home. However, the family wants to go somewhere. I'm currently looking into a Marriott resort down in Cancun. I can get two rooms for 7 nights free (with my points). Now I just need to figure how to get 5 of us down there on free plane tickets. We may have to split us on different flights due to award seat limitations. Working on it.
