Talking "Fanboys" release widening on 02/20/09! 10 more cities!!

Dudes and dudettes! It's finally being released!

http://www.fanboys-themovie.com/#/home-page

The movie we have been waiting for YEARS to see is finally coming out! Sadly it is only limited for the time being. If enough people show up for the initial release they will widen it to more theatres. I'll most likely be taking a 3 hour roadtrip with my bro to see this.

A list of the select cities can be found here:

http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?f...ogID=465737809

Hopefully they will stick to it this time and we won't have to wait any longer! Here's hoping for a perfect Blu-ray release!

(If this has already been reported then please disregard my post. I tried using the search feature but apparently people like to call other people "fanboys" so I ended up with too many pages of results to read through.)

Well, the count-down clock on their MySpace page says less than 2 days and 9 hours. Surely they would of pulled it by now if they were going to?

Sucks that it's getting such a small release. But hopefully it hits Blu-Ray in 2-3 months.

I agree that it does suck about the limited release so I'm doing my part by taking a 3 hour road trip to see it! Like they said, if enough people show up for this limited release they will expand it.

My tickets are already purchased and I'm taking off work on Friday to catch this movie!

I SO can't wait for this to be released on Blu. To me, it's more important than The Dark Knight. Don't hurt me!

I considered taking a roadtrip down to Seattle to see it myself, but right now is a really bad time for me. Really want to see this one. Will blind buy the Blu if nothing else though.

Blame "The Weinstein Company". They've been forcing reshoots and trying to make them change the script and after the fans protested they retracted the change in script so we get to see the original form of the movie.

My apologies. I forget about firewalls since my office does not block any websites. Here is a list of the cities:

1) New York – 10 screens (including AMC 34th St)
2) Los Angeles – 10 screens (including Mann Chinese 6)
3) Chicago – 3 screens
4) Philadelphia – 5 screens
5) San Francisco – 6 screens
6) Seattle – 3 screens
7) Houston – 3 screens
8) Austin - 1 screen (Alamo Drafthouse)

I'll personally be going to Austin where Ernest Cline (The writer) will be.

Argh, Austin is just far enough away that a road trip for the weekend is out. *sigh* I'd love to see this movie and support them!

+1

Actually only about a 2.5 hour drive there... then 1.5+ hours wading through traffic... no thanks.
Hopefully it is released more widely, but if not, Blu it is, I'll def. blind buy it.
