Default Quantum of Solace

I saw this movie at midnight it was good but not great. Very action packed with many stunts and scenes. I dont wanna spoil anything so I will wait till everyone has seen it this week to discuss further topics on the movie itself. I still think Casino Royale was better than this movie but this one had its own moments as well. Lemme know what you think.

I heard it wasn't that great. I'm surprised it's a short film. Not even 2 hours.

I seems as though it is long when you are watching it. I would def. say go see it but I would also say dont expect another Casino Royale.

I had high hopes but it seems like everyone is saying it doesn't live up to CR... I'm not expecting an Oscar contender or anything.

Just returned from seeing QoS and I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I recommend it to everyone, especially those of you who consider yourselves (as I do) "Bond Aficionados ." If you haven't seen CR yet I would strongly recommend that you see it before going to QoS or else you will find yourselves a little lost with everything that's going on. I'm sure we will get into the critiques soon enough so I won't risk being a spoiler just yet. While I understand why some people might say "it's no Casino Royale" I believe these criticisms are inaccurate and off the mark. CR and QoS should not be judged separately against each other but rather as a two part movie. From that perspective I believe this is one of the best Bond films yet! In any event I certainly looking forward to the BD release!

This is one of the reasons why i did not like this one very much. Never before has a bond film been so reliant on an earlier film and i liked that about them. you did not have to see any previous bond film in order to enjoy a new one. each one stood on their own with there own story line and plot that started at the begining and came to a conclusion by the end of the film. Where as with QoS you have to have seen CR to understand it, and they still don't wrap up the story line at the end of QoS rather they lead you on into the next film.

Another reason why i did not think QoS was a good Bond film was because Bond lacked the sophistication, class, and wits that makes him different from every other action movie hero.I have no problem with lots of action and killing and blood and explosions, but Bond needs to keep his character within the overall film. He does not do that in QoS, I might as well have been watching Die Hard. They took Bond and made him into an Thug.

Overall i feel that this was a above average action movie, a B- to a B. However It was NOT a good James Bond Film at all. As Far as a bond film goes i would give it a C at best.

BUT WOW!!!! IT WAS ^$#$ING AWESOME!!!!!!! If you go in expecting the old style Bond Movies than you havent learned ANYTHING since the last one!!!

If you just go in expecting an action movie than you'll be creaming your pants!!

The villain looked lame in the trailer story seemed weak but after watching it wow A+ work!!

Im going to watch this again and i rarely do that for other movies

9/10 (i love bond so id love to see a bit more of that in the flick but since its happening immediately after the last one its expected but im anal so i still cut a point off of the score)

Saw Quantum of Solace today. The action never slows down for a second! In fact, the way the action is paced throughout the film, you'd think that you were watching the Bourne movies all over again! And I will go as far as saying that I liked it a little bit better than Casino Royale, given the fact that Quantum of Solace was based on a Bond short story. And Daniel Craig once again shows us why he is a kill first, ask questions later-type James Bond, and I can't wait to see him in the next Bond film...whenever that is. Even though Quantum of Solace was kind of short, clocking in at only 106 minutes (1 hr. 46 mins.) long, you won't be disappointed at the very least this weekend! Plus, it left me with a feeling of going back and watching Casino Royale all over again!

I believe you "nay-sayers" are missing the entire point of CR and QoS. The producers have finally gone back to what Bond (the character) was always meant to be, at least how Ian Flemming portrayed him in the novels. And to you nitpickers out there I have in fact read QoS and know that the only thing the film and the short story share is the title. Although I would submit that their is a common underlying theme about cruelty and redemption between the story and the film but I digress. The entire film series should also be looked at in context with the times they were produced. The thing you are missing (or ignoring, IMHO) is that CR and QoS are Bond at the beginning of his 00 career. Can anyone truely say they are were better at the beginning of their career? I think not. Ahhh, I've said much more than I intended.

"Bartender, another drink please. 3 measures of Gordons, 1 of vodka and half a measure of Kinet Lillet. And Don't forget the slice of lemon."

Just watched it before I went to work this morning. The 10:05, 11:00, 11:05, and the 11:45 showing were all sold out. So I had to go to the 12:30 showing. Funny thing was the 12:30 showing had barely anyone in it.

This movie rocks! I thought it felt and looked more like a bond film than CR did and I love CR. I really like Craig as bond and can't wait to see what they do next.

I missed out tho, the theater I had to go to (since the new really really good AMC theater for some reason wasn't showing it) did not show Watchmen or the Star Trek preveiws. I had heard they were going to have them in front of Bond but the Regal theater didn't show them. Atleast I got to see the Watchmen one on line last night.

Just saw QOS, it is a good action film but it didn't really feel like a Bond film. That being said, the action was fast & furious (sometimes cut too much) and the plot was compelling and I am looking forward to hopefully seeing another Bond that slightly lighter. Overall, it is a solid 7.5 / 10, it ain't Goldeneye but it is as good as Casino Royale and Craig is growing on me as Bond.

Just got back from the theaters. Here's the way I feel about it.

Very similar to CR. However, IMO it was too short. It's a good half hour shorter than the average Bond film. Because of this, I was not expecting the climax to be the climax. It did not have a climactic feel to it and I kept thinking, "There's no way this is the end; I'm only 85 minutes into it!" It wasn't enough; after it was over, I felt cheated.

That being said, once I see it again, and I know what to expect, I'll probably enjoy it a lot more. (This was the case with No Country For Old Men)
