....there's a lot of potential left in the series....as long as LUCAS is *NOT* doing the scripts!!!!! He has to be one of the worst writers ever. His dialogue (esp. in the last trilogy) was like 6th grade level. He just needs to kick back and rake in the royalties while some fanboys handle the writing. Or have Tarantino or Kevin Smith do the writing. That would rock.

Sounds like they will be an extension of his new Clone Wars animated series. Made for TV stuff.

Can you say "The Ewok Adventures"? I thouht you could.

Ghay...remember the last two 'made for tv' Star wars movies? They revolved around the ewoks...Battle for endor and some other stupid shit with a little girl and her family crashing on the forest moon and befriending the ewoks to battle bears and shit

The movies are reflective of the demand of the market or by the inclinations of its creators. I don't think Lucas would have greenlit the Ewoks if he didn't feel that his audience or himself would enjoy it. I think at the time, he was concentrating on his business and his kids.

And I don't think sixth graders would have enough talent to write a complete trilogy. 12th graders, maybe. I'm not a fan of his writings either but I've seen worse effort from other writers/directors; most indie movies that didn't get distributed are like these. Don't forget that while you may complain about the dialogues, he did dreamt up the action sequences.

Personally I think he's ready to do other things. The SW TV series is probably going to be supervised by him and his team. Just like other SW comix, so long as it stays true to the mythology, it doesn't matter who writes them.

Step away from the hookah!

We may be living in the golden age of special effects, but the quality of acting has been going down hill since the 60s

....all I ask is that Jake Lloyd, Hayden Christenson and Jar Jar binks somehow be worked into a scene in the new movies where they all meet horrible deaths. Then I will feel like I had some closure. Thanks to those turds and GL's terrible writing, several hours of my life were taken that I'll never get back.

I just hope they don't turn it into some big "political message" like they tried to do with the most recent Star Wars film.

It just ruined the taste of the whole thing, and made me want to vomit.

To be honest I never understood the whole Star Wars thing. E6 with flying teddy bears and such?. Ep 1-3 aren't any smarter, and very commercialized or cheesy, whatever you call it. but gotta admit it, CGI is very good.
And Lucas called Spiderman III stupid? What a greedy bastard he is anyway.

I completely with you about GL's horrible writing and plot lines, Lloyd and Christenson's laughable acting, I won't even discuss Jar Jar. However, I must disagree with the bit about Tarantino writing the scripts. I can just imagine it now:

Luke: Han, hand me my light saber.
Han: Which one is it?
Luke: It's the one that says BAD MOTHER F*****!!

He didn't. He's also been quite generous with his money BTW. Nobody has forced someone to buy his products.
