Excellent. This one has been known about for years so I'm glad to hear that it's finally coming. I got tired of waiting a few years back and imported this edition.

This is a really cool folk-horror film though and one that I will definitely be upgrading. It looks like this must have been a joint production as Screenbound Pictures has plans to release it with the same 4k Remastered presentation in the UK in June.

I'm a bit bummed/surprised by the lack of response this news has gotten...
While not a perfect film it's still a very enjoyable one and an easy recommendation for me. It's unique and different in all the right ways. It makes for an excellent double feature with The Wickerman, Mark of the Devil, or The Witchfinder General, and is very much a film that belongs in any horror fans collection that enjoys branching out from the mainstream...

Here's a recommendation from Joe Dante over the same trailer...

Excellent news! I'm glad I waited to upgrade my PAL DVD of this top-notch Brit horror film. Stoked for this!

I also bought that Blu-ray release after catching the last half of a rare HDTV showing a year or so prior. Definitely a hidden gem. I'm a bit fuzzy on the history and details of the film but isn't there still some bits of footage still missing on the UK release? And if so, will this release correct that problem?

I wouldn't even call attention to any flaws with it. It's a great horror movie, IMO. I just had already placed my preorder for the upcoming UK 4K remaster several months ago so this news doesn't really excite me as a result. I'm sure others had already gotten their orders in for that release too.

I've got the region-free disc, but I'm probably in for this double-dip. It's a pretty fascinating movie.

IMO this is probably the greatest British horror film of all time, it's certainly one of the most unique horror films of all time.

I already pre-ordered the UK release. I wonder what the differences will be.

Encoding, probably. Severin did a bang up job on The Changeling encoding-wise.

It's a long holiday weekend - I'm sure as the week progresses and more people go back to their usual routines they'll bump into this and react. Traffic around these parts always slows down on the weekends.

Personally, I've never seen the film but plan on picking up a copy based solely on the positive reviews I've read over the years. Always keen on checking out British horror (anything except Hammer, though )

So excited! This has been my most anticipated Severin title for YEARS now. I can't wait to finally give this one a spin later this year.

Drop The Descent from that list and I am in exact agreement!

THE DESCENT is definitely one of the finest modern British horror films at least.

Can't say I have any love for it, just another derivative and mostly forgettable modern horror film.

Yeah when I posted my follow up comments with the trailers the post was just about to fall to page 2 without a single additional response. Once things fall off the main page it tends to be a crap shoot as to whether or not people notice it so I wanted to give it one last bump to drum up some interest before it disappeared.

I feel like this is a horror film for folks that feel like they've seen everything. It's by no means as bloody, violent, exploitative, etc as many other films out there, but it is a part of a very small niche of films that fall under the unofficial banner of folk-horror and as a result scratches an itch you likely never even knew existed.

The film is so different, and such a breath of fresh air from the usual items that it makes for a fun unique experience and impression.

Yeah, it's pretty great. I didn't know at all what to expect the first time, so it really caught me off-guard. That first scene with the claw might be my favorite, it's weirdly creepy in some kind of surreal way.

Its initial existence as an anthology movie shows, but I really like most of it. The commentary on the UK disc is one of my favorites, I've listened to it a couple times. I'm guessing that won't be ported due to the very local appeal of the guys, but it should be!
