Default Would you like to own a low cost standalone BLU-RAY recorder?

Here is a poll on people's interest in owning a low cost BLU-RAY standalone recorder. Personally for me I watch almost 100% store bought movie BLU-RAY discs and am not interested in recording. I voted yes for BLU-RAY standalone recorders since some of my family members love recording onto a Verzion HD DVR and then when the DVR fills up transferring the 1080I/720P HD program or SD program onto a D-VHS machine. Under the 5C digital content protection the TV program will be marked for copy always, copy once, copy never ,etc.

A first generation standalone BLU-RAY recorder might cost around $2,000 and the blank 50GB discs are not cheap, but as technology improves and becomes more popular in several years BLU-RAY standalone recorders might cost under $300 and blank discs will be more affordable. Optical BLU-RAY discs are a nice media to store long term family videos from a HD camcorder or even ones favorite TV shows. Under the 5C digital content protection only TV shows that are allowed to be recorded would be recorded onto the BLU-RAY disc. Prerecorded store bought BLU-RAY discs would always look better compared to broadcast TV and cable.
