Hey gang-
I've got an htss2300 connected with an HDMI Cable to an Insignia Blu-ray player. The player is set to LPCM. When the menu is running, the PL11 indicator lights up, but in the actual movie it dosen't. DTS and Dolby don't light up at all. It SOUNDS like it's doing the good sound- all five speakers are active, and it sounds great to me, but it's also my first surround sound system. Is it not lit up because the blu-ray player is doing the decoding? Am I still getting the best sound out of it? |

Your Blu-ray player is doing the decoding, so it's sending the proper signal to your receiver as LPCM. Since your receiver is receiving LPCM, the signal is already decoded, and it doesn't know if it was originally DTS-HD MA, or Dolby TrueHD.
It's working fine though. |
