They're not official blu-rays, they're also not legal. But sounds like they may be legit AVCHD copies of the movie.

it states in the auction that theyre "rare bootleg" copies. wonder how they got true hd

I'm thinking the same thing. The best that is broadcast over cable/sat is DD 5.1

would they play on a ps3 would they be any better than dvd sorry if these are dumb questions

if you read the auction description, it states it will play on the ps3. but i wouldnt do it. you may never know how theyve been recorded and may have some editing "issues" when they cut the commercials out.

also i dont believe its true hd audio. they may have used some program to fool playback devices. i would wait for the original release and just upconvert sd dvds for now.

I am with you on that as well. Star Wars is just too much of a classic for me, I would wait for the official release.
