Default Denon AVR-1609 --- anyone have opinions about it?

I want the Sony 720, but I'm concerned that the back says "Impedance 8 - 16 ohms", and my existing speakers I believe are 6 ohms.

So, assuming that I cannot use my current speakers with the 720, I saw this Denon.

Anyone have any opinions about it?

I might have found the bad news:

No HDMI audio pass through.

That doesn't even make sense; why in the world would you make such a device?

SIGH.

To hit a price point.

The 1909 does as far as I can tell. The 889 is really nice for the price and I am still streching its legs. Had it up to +7.5 dB with Kill Bill Volume 2 last night. I'll go higher with a dts HD MA track tonight. There's a 2309 for sale for $600 in the trading forums.
