Default What is best Reciver Support Dolbly HD & DTS Master under $400?

So far i was only saw Onkyo TX-SR606 for around mid 300. is that a good receiver? it said upscale to 1080i, but i had ps3 and 1080p tv, i can still display 1080p content right? does the receiver upscale improve my non hd content? I had logitech z680 speaker, can i heard hd sound with this receiver and ps3?

I wouldn't worry about an AVRs upscaling capabilities.... my main concern would be Audio Quality.

Look at that, the Onkyo 605, the Yamaha 663, and the Sony 720, all within your budget.

and that's all it would be...... an "opinion" I'd say, given the options, I'd go with the Yamaha..... just my "Opinion"...... Bubba says "Onkyo" others will say Sony, there may be a pioneer in the price range, or a Denon... or Harmon Kardon.... Everyone is simply going to give their opinion..... it shouldn't take too much effort on your part to listen to the ones you have listed, since they're all readily available at most big-box-stores.

Go out and check them out

I voted for the Yamaha. I'm own this model and it sounds great. I'm sure the Onkyo is also a good choice. The only reason I choose not to buy Onkyo again is because I had a bad customer support experience and will not buy from them again. From what I've heard from owners of the 606, though, it is also a good candidate.

Onkyo is good for the price, Denon and Yamaha would be more money, i would stay away from sony and pioneer in that price range, you would get more out of the Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha.

This is so true, Just go listen and do a little research on them its worth it because it is your hard earned money.Don't be totally influenced by us because wether we admit it or not we all like what we own and will try to influence others to justify our purchase.Have fun and go see for yourself.

Yamaha 663! Cannot go wrong for the price. You can buy one for $350 shipped from an authorize dealer too! Best reciever I purchase. But you can't go wrong with any of the above. Find which one is best for you.
