home theater - Blu-ray Forum

can anybody suggest a home theater wireless system that has hdmi inputs and ipod ready also do those dvd upgrade players that claim to upgrade 720 dvd to 1080p work. my standard dvd look like crap on my sony bluray player anybody help

couple of things......

1) the upconverting players like the oppo work, but I prefer the look of DVDs that aren't upconverted..... basically just buy a blu-ray if you want better PQ.

Your display probably has some sort of upconverting capabilities.....

2) There really is no good "wireless" system..... your best bet, would be to get a receiver, and front L/R and Center speakers..... and add a subwoofer if you are so inclined.

Do you have a budget in mind? What limitations does your room have ?

I agree with Beta, stay away from wireless systems.

Spend about $400 on a receiver, and the rest on the L/R/C speakers......

You'll have a good 3.0 setup, and when funds allow, add a sub and surrounds.

For speakers you'll have some good options available, but it depends on what you like, so hit up some local stores and give them a listen.
