Default Microsoft Office 2010 beta

Anybody else testing our the Office 2010 products?

http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/default.aspx

Its free and the beta expires October 2010. You can run the 2010 instance separately from the version you currently have so you wont lose it when the beta expires. Just choose the customize option and not the upgrade when prompted. If your not prompted it will automatically install 2010 separately.

I havent noticed much different yet, but I havent really dug in either. Aesthetically, the little windows that pop up while its loading are animated and show the loading process of your documents (if they are large enough). Not an upgrade worthy feature but it does look nice.

On 2007 to print, save, etc. you would click the Office logo in the top left corner and get a drop down, now it has its own tab that incorporates a print preview automatically which is nice.

One thing that is nice for me personally is there is now subscript and superscript buttons next to bold, italic, etc.

I havent had time to explore yet but supposedly there is more then what I mentioned. Since you can install it separately and its free you might as well give it a go and see what you think.

You can add save, print, preview, etc., buttons to the top of 2007. You don't have to go to the ribbon each time.

I'm going to install the 32-bit version this weekend (I would have went with the 64-bit if I got around to installing Windows 7). I'm using Office Professional 2007 at the moment, so I'm curious as to what changes / improvements have been made.

+1 not a big difference. I remember first trying out '07..it was such a leap from '03.

I'm guessing this is only available for Windows? No Mac Beta yet.
