Default In need of PS3 help

Hello all. I am having trouble with my PS3. Anyone have this similar problem/know how to fix this. I was at home for break and used my PS3 and my HDMI cable on my parent's LCD tv. It was working fine when I packed it up last night, and as I returned to college, I plugged everything into the right spot and it won't display a picture on my LCD tv. The only thing that is different is the tv's used, and I've never had a problem with mine. Also, just for good measure, I tried to use the AV Cables to see if the settings somehow reverted, but alas, no dice. Can someone help me, please?

is your tv 1080P? only thing i can think of is when you hooked it up to your parents tv, the ps3 was set to 1080p and your tv can't support 1080.

No. Mine isn't 1080P, but their's is. Is there some way to fix this? I've actually never had problems like this before at home when I moved my PS3from theirs to mine (which I've done many times before).

turn the machine on then wait a few seconds and hold the power button until it double beeps and restarts/shuts down... See if that helps.

you need to reset your PS3. hold the power button for 5 seconds and it'll make a beeping sound. that should reset your ps3 and then you'll be able to change your display settings.

Glad it worked for you...but just so you know, all this is outlined in the PS3's manual.

Hahaha. I admit, I never read manuals. I fiddle around with things. Didn't even think to check that.

yea, I had to read the manual when it happened to me, but it's probably quicker to just ask it on the net. lol.
