Im sorry I meant the Hz. Are refresh rate and response time the same thing? Sorry I am new to this. Addtionally...is 8ms acceptable?

Yes they are. This HDTV is most likely 60hz, not 120hz, but that shouldn't stop you from purchasing it. I'll defer to the LCD experts as to why ( I have a plasma), but I can tell you that many people turn off the "motion enhancer" that 120hz offers.

There are threads in the LCD forums that will give you some good info.

Well, John is partially correct, usually TV's that have a 120 hz refresh rate have faster pixel response times, although there are 60 hz TVs that have response rates that are better then 8ms. 120hz and "MotionFlow" are not the same thing, and there are 60hz tv's with "MotionFlow" too.

In response to you TV it is a 60hz refresh rate TV with an 8 ms response time, this is very typical in LCDs, better LCDs like Samsung, Sharp, LG, Sony will have 5ms response times on 60hz tv's and anywhere from 2-4ms for 120hz tv's.
