Default Eddie Murphy is Richard Pryor?

http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/...ondon-sho.html
Eddie Murphy to star in Richard Pryor biopic
JOEYTOMATOES Writes--
Eddie Murphy as Richard Pryor this could be RELLY good. I can even smell Oscar...but one thing stands in the way in my opinion. POLITICAL CORRECTNES!!! Pryor came from a golden age of comedy where comedians openly made fun of race, sexual orientation, women, disability and more. People back than took it for what it was a joke and laughed it off.

Today we have become a nation of over sensitive cry babies. Radio, TV, Movie, print, and even comedians today are being fired for lightly touching the same ground Pryor did in his time. Today we have Al Sharpton, Chinese, Italian, Mexican defamation leagues that threaten to boycott and protest if someones job isn't taken for a joke. A JOKE!?!?

I just hope that the studio whoever it is has the balls to turn its back on Political Correctness and make a biopic that is as truthful and raw as the time it represents.

This movie has the potential to be great. Give pryor the respect he deserves.

If it really digs into his personal life this could win.

Eddie is a huge Richard Pryor fan and knew him personally so thos are big pluses, but I think he's just too old to play Pryor now. I would give it too Mike Epps.

the guy from the friday movies? you have to be kidding? he's not even in the same stratosphere as richard pryor. the movie would work if you're not making a comedy.

Who Eddie Murphey? I don't believe he was in any movies with Friday in the title. You might be thinking of Ice Cube.

If you do not know who Eddie Murphey is you must be living under a rock . He has not done anything good in a very long time.. but you have to understand in Eddie's prime he was spectacular. He was a major superstar and was extremely funny. He was also on SNL for a long time back in the day. If you want a good introduction to Eddie Murphey watch his stand-up RAW (on dvd). Some of his popular movies include Coming to America, 48hrs, Beverly Hills Cop, and the Nutty Professor.

I dont think anybody knows richard pryor more then eddie murphy, so I think this would work well. Plus I think it would be honor for eddie to play richard, considering the fact that they were such good friends. Now these two were the REAL Kings of Comedy.

Good point, unless your a heterosexual, white, male then you're open territory for ridicule. Maybe you guys should start an organization. (I'm gay so I couldn't join, but you would have my support.)

Default Eddie is RAW!!!

This would be soooooooooooo dope!!! Eddie would have to return to his "F-You Man" Gglory!!! Richard was as foul mouthed as they come and so was Eddie. So this is a match made in heaven in regards to the potential that could be had with this project! I hope it gets the green light with Eddie at the helm...I know he'll do it justice!

And if you want a real piece of how funny Eddie was watch "Delerious" his 1st stand up that was put on media. (Tape, CD, VHS DVD...wheres the BD damnit!?) Its my all time favorite Eddie "movie" and I can quote a majority of it.
"Very funny...MF'r....Stevie Wonder Jokes!"
"I got some ice cream....and you cant have noneeeeee....cuz you cant afford it.....you cant afford ittttttttt......and your father is an alcoholicccccccc"
"I said hello to your wife Gus...the b@#%h looked at me and said gooney goo goo...wtf is a gooney goo goo Gus?!?!...I'll tell you what it is Gus...you married a F'n Bigfoot"
hahahahahaha......classic Eddie!!!!

I'm realy pulling for Eddie Murphy to make a big comeback. Lately his movies have been crap. The last great one he made IMHO is Bowfinger.
