Default Is Panasonic SA-BX500 Receiver any good?

they are selling this for $420 in amazon, i wonder what does this compare to other entry level receiver that support hd audio like Onyko 606, sony 80.., etc..

actually seems like a pretty good receiver. Good power, 3 HDMI inputs, plenty of other hookups available, HD audio decoding (if your not using PS3)...I'd say go for it.

you've got alot of other posts about what your planning. Get the receiver, and build your speaker collection based on what you have. Don't go the wireless speaker route if you don't have to. Check with any audio/video stores in your area for deals. At least where I live, there are two stores going out of business, and prices are dropping like mad. Don't rule out open box items, and display models if budget is an issue. You can usually get great deals if you just ask about some products they've used for demo purposes.
