Let me first say that i loved the movie Taken! I thought it was very well done and that Neeson did a very good job in his role.

Been done before and terrible acting by Liam's daughter in the film. Way too predictable and way too unrealistic.

What about Famkee Janssen or Xander Berkeley? They just hurt the film. Famkee in particular, was very inappropriate. The kid was too 'typical', as well.

I really enjoyed the EU cut of this. Hopefully when it hits Blu here in the States it's uncut.

Awesome movie.

I dunno what he saw, but IMO this movie is badass. Plenty of action, edge of your seat, new idea compared to what has been done recently. It is definitely worth a viewing. I have heard that the PG-13 release here is slimmed down from what I think the European R version is. Just something I heard but based on that I believe I saw the R rated version of it and I enjoyed it very much.

Famke's character was so annoying. Let's whine about how Liam's character was such a bad father who only turned out to be right. LOL.

I guess some people liked that, but I didn't.

Yawn movie. Tried to be realistic (unlike Transporter etc.) and failed.

Neeson = good
Action/fights = good
Remaining balance = poor

I thought Liam did a very good job, and pretty much carried the movie. I thought the daughter did a good in depicting the character. She is a young lady, that like most young people, thinks they know everything. She knows how to manipulate her father and use his desire to be closer to her to her advantage. Some people say she is too typical, but that's the way kids are! He goes through everything he does for her, because she is his daughter. Even though she doesn't listen to him or do what he tells her or even truly enjoy seeing him or spending time with him

, he does what he does. Seems like a typical father-daughter relationship, especially given their circumstances (he hasn't really been there throughout her life) and her age (teenager). Very enjoyable movie IMO.

can someone helpe me w/this??? there is a movie when i search Taken in the field above. is it the same movie as what's in the theater now??? or is there a Taken from a couple of years ago and a new remake currently in the theater.

This is the same Taken you see if you search this site. It was released worldwide (minus US) last year. It is on blu ray in many parts of the world and it is just being released in the theatre here in America.

Also, both of those releases (France and UK) are region locked to Region b and bc respectively.

Great Movie. Daughter character sucked, but didn't ruin the movie for me. Action Packed throughout.

Good movie. I felt they didn't try to be more than they could achieve. The movie is a very basic, fast paced action film. Kind of like a video game. Daughter is taken, main character looks to find and kill suspects, begin level 1.
