Default Philips BDP-3000

I recently picked this player up for £59.00 as a clearence item from Curry's, and I love it much more than my old Sony BDP-300.

The only thing is that it doesn't come with a internal harddrive for BD-live features, although it is Profile 2.0.

Can I connect it via USB cable to my PC so that the harddrive on there can be used for the BD-Live features?

Default Samsung BDP-3000

I just got a good deal at Target on a Sony BDP-S300: 272.00. After getting home, and not opening the box, I jumped online to check the reviews. It appears to have some serious issues such as slow load time and not dolby HD compatible.

Firstly, please make your own thread regarding your issue.

Secondly, my previous player was a Sony BDP-300 which, without the aid of BD-Live and the horrible load times, was just a big useless lump pf black metal. You got ripped off.

Exclamation Confusion does not help me helping you!

I'm a little confused here; the title of the thread says "Samsung BDP-3000",
and yet the OP (Bill) is asking about a Philips BDP-3000, as compared to his old Sony BDP-300?
And Profile 2.0 without BD Live? Perhaps only if you use an SD card or a USB stick, with the proper storage value, then Yes.

And then nassmarine just above is asking about the Sony BDP-S300?

I just don't know what to say!

NOTE: Bill, I believe that you have to insert a virgin USB stick in your Philips BD player to properly access the BD Live features. Then connect your player using the Ethernet port with an Ethernet cable to your computer. Right?

First off, I gave this thread the wrong title when originally making it, so I tried to edit the title to reflect on the actual player I was asking about.

Secondly, the main issue is simple: I have the blu-ray player (Philips BD-P3000) connected to my network via ethernet cable already (despite appearences, I am not a n00b). What I asked in the original post, is "Can I connect it via USB cable to my PC so that the harddrive on there can be used for the BD-Live features?". That question was made because rather than spending more cash on a memory stick, I am enquiring as to if it is possible to use a USB cable to connect the Blu-ray player to my computer so that the computer hard-drive can be used instead of a memory stick.

I really don't see why that would confuse you.

nassmarine just posted his question in the thread at the very top at the time because he just didn't make his own thread.

Bill, I never judge people or from their avatar or from their posts, I was only confused that's all, no mention of what I think of you.

Now, as for your question, the answer is NO. ...Unless I'm missing something here. So if I do, please someone correct me.

* Very best to do is to get a USB memory stick (just steal one from your brother or sister...).

Welcome to B-R Forums.

* Your question is not directly in the right thread but no biggie.

The Sammy 2500 is not really new, it's about a year and a half old (going two).
And all BD players are 1080p.

Either one TV you won't notice the difference, unless you sit at 4 feet or so from the screen. I would simply use it in the family room, where the TV is the bigger one right? Just set the player to 1080i that's all. Enjoy!
