Atonement and Kite Runner? - Blu-ray Forum

I know theres beens tons of talk about other movies coming over to blu-ray...but have seen no rumors or mention of either the kite runner or atonement. are these movies expected to be later released for blu?

I think Universal had announced that Atonement will be the last title they release on HD DVD. Other than that we just have to wait things out.

i hope they release kite runner on blu..its a great movie..as for atonement i could care less....one of the worst movies ive seen in my life

Atonement and Kite Runner will be released on VIBGYOR-ray disc in 2025.

I like it Comet... Your mixing up the scream pictures. BTW the Dunkirk scene in Atonement was off the hook. That must have been about a 10 min continuous shoot that I have never scene in any movie before and would look sweet on BD.

I believe that sequence had two or three seamless morph cuts. Even still, the shots between the cuts are fairly long. One of the more amazing movies in terms of these long action sequences is Saving Private Ryan. The first battle sequence and the final battle sequence have lots of these.

Speaking of the topic, I'd take both of them on BD. Love these movies.

Try Children of Men. Cuaron is in love with that technique, and uses it at least three times in this movie. The Dunkirk scene (which was beautifully shot) was only 4.5 minutes long, but the fighting scene in CoM was 7 minutes!

I'm currently reading Kite Runner right now, is the movie as good as the book? Or any new twists? The book sure had a lot of them

just finished my review of the Blu-ray Disc of The Kite Runner:

Long story short: The BD is stunning. One of the most "true to film" BDs out there yet... oozing with detail, clear, no edge-emphasis, no DNR processing... perfect.

Lossless TrueHD as well.
