Lightbulb Is there a way to have a Spanish sub forum/room?

Hi,

I don’t know if the number of users on this excellent site can afford a space for the Spanish talkers, since here in Mexico Blu Ray marketing is increasing in different ways as stores with promotions as in different cities, so Im asking to our moderatos the possibility to have this kind of space for us.

Hope to hear from everyone!!

Thanks in advance

We'll see what's the answer from blu-ray.com, but then we'll have to make some others. Like French, Portuguese, German, etc.
There's people from all around the world on this site and we all use English the best we can, as this site is based in US.
So I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but if they start that, they'll have to make more than just 1 for Spanish IMO.

And I think that is entirely the problem with this request, however good the idea is.

Perhaps this could be addressed with a STICKY? I don't know.

As many sites have they're International sub forums, is my believe that will be good idea to discuss in our own language and not be lost on translation, of course better references and/or comments will be posted/found on main forum, but references about local promotions, discounts and/or availabilities can be discussed in nature language; all of this in the believe that Blu Ray world has grow now to every corner in the globe , that's my idea

Spanish is a very big language, so this is something we've actually discussed a long time ago, but haven't implemented because lack of spanish BD titles. However, since BD is going more and more mainstream, we have now added a spanish sub forum to the Blu-ray Movies and Releases forum. We also plan to add a spanish flag to the top right, so you can easily find spanish titles as well. (We plan to combine all spanish titles into one "flag"/section, since spanish is spoken in so many different countries/regions).

being the OP on this thread, I have this question, its really difficult/complex to have a dedicated section for all non English people? or there is no confidence or time to attend this new section?

this in the good for a universal open forum for Blu Ray people

im guessing from what you said is the members will have to make something of it just like we do in all the other subforums

also, notice the description under the title of the sub forum
Quote:
Discuss Blu-ray movies, announcements, release dates, features, etc for spanish language titles around the world. Please keep discussions in english so everyone can participate.

umm, yes . The mods and admins dont create threads, you guys do.... If you know spanish titles you wanna discuss, start a thread and discuss it. I am not sure what the confusion is there?

there is no confusion at all, is just a fare petition from some of us to create an International sub forum to disscuss about Blu Ray, TVs and more and mantain order on the site, would you like posts with more tha 20 pages with lots of themes inside?

theres what a movie discussion forum looks like, I think you may be making more of this than it is. You wanted a place to discuss spanish movies and it was created, enjoy.

I think it is a great idea, since I am a big fan of Spanish movies. The "conversation" in English is understandable, but most of the titles should be referred to by their original name. I for one prefer "El Espinazo del Diablo" to "The Devil's Backbone". You you scan sites like Zona DVD you will find that titles are listed and fully described in Spanish, and that trend is likely to continue as Blu-ray further emerges in Spain and Latin America. In fact, it is very difficult to obtain information about Spanish movies from US based sites. Internet resources from Spain are usually a good medium for finding the information. I for one would love to see Mexican classics from "Resortes", "Cantinflas"...and Cuban movies like "Guantanamera" and "Fresas y Chocolate"...Spain is a fantastic source for great classic and modern cinema, but most people are unawere of the offerings. In some instances, the discussion will inevitably turn to Spanish. For example, Javier Barden has been around for a long time, but most people only became aware of his work after the release for No Country For Old Men...if you post about his Spanish movies and translate the title to English everyone will be confused.

Discussion in Spanish remain a proposition, I’m still believe site can approve this, unless jwbbud has the final word.

Maybe there we can start a miscellaneous Spanish thread over there
