Very impressive horror set around a convenience store, veering from black comedy to very creepy with ease. The only feature film from writer/director Yoshihiro Hoshino. It does its best to cram in every staple from J-horror but is no less effective for that, the anorak and the bouncing ball are very spooky.
Known in Japan as Crows Of Darkness, it was adapted from the first volume of a hugely successful series of horror novellas. It had the misfortune to be released in America at around the same time as Wes Craven's Cursed and was pretty much ignored. Thoroughly deserving of a blu edition
