Got it all setup Im trying to figure out the DTS HD and DOLBY TRU HD audio formats for my blu rays Im using a PS3 for my blu ray player. In the movie I just DTS HD MASTER AUDIO for the sound format but On my Reciever it dosent show up on the screen as DTS HD MSTR it shows up as NEO:6 or what not What settings do I need to select on my PS3, to get the HD audio I am running my ps3 to my reciever to my tv through HDMI. Please help, Also Im very new to this so please be easy with me on the jargon! TIA!! |

First off, nice receiver.
Now you have to decide whether you want your PS3 or your receiver to do the decoding. If you have your PS3 set on PCM instead of Bitstream, your PS3 will decode the audio and send it uncompressed PCM to you receiver. Many users then place the receiver mode on Pure audio or Direct. This leaves the audio source untouched, unprocessed and you'll get loseless audio. Only thing with having the PS3 decode is that you won't get that pretty light on your receiver that says "DTS True HD". |

You'll want to always leave it on PCM, by the way- the PS3 doesn't bitstream lossless audio. |

Also, you should have the PS3 audio section entirely checked off with the exception of AAC. |

Anyway, there's two schools of thought with checking them all- one is that if you check 7.1 and you have a 5.1 setup, then your receiver must roll in the rear surround track on a 6.1 or 7.1 track. Personally, I don't have an issue with this, so yes, I have everything checked. |
