Default Burt (Reynolds) in Blu

As a youth during the 70's & early 80's, one of my favorite actors was Burt Reynolds. I grew up on Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run and the like. Most of his movies, though generally not Oscar-caliber performances (with the notable exception of his role in Boogie Nights), were entertaining and memorable.

After performing a search of Burt's films on Blu-Ray, I was dismayed to discover only two in which he had significant roles, Deliverance and (yikes) In The Name Of The King.

I'd really like to see classics like Sharkey's Machine, Stick, Hooper and The Longest Yard come to Blu. Those were his four best films IMO. His "relationship" films are worth mentioning as well, like Starting Over, Best Friends and The Man Who Loved Women.

Ahhh...summer of 77. If it wasn't for Star Wars, Smokey and the Bandit would have been the box office champ! First day purchase on Blu for me.

Yeah, pretty much any movie thats mostly shot outside will look fantastic! That's why I can't wait for Speilberg's DUEL.

Same here... saw the whole trilogy back to back to back on UniversalHD. I'd definately pick up the first one on Blu, maybe all three in a box set if the price was cheap enough.

How about "The End" with him and Dom Deluise. One of the funniest movies ever made!! I would love Smokey and Bandit come to Blu too. And of course The Cannonball Run!!

Another good one! Burt has great comedic timing and was part of what made those films so funny. Dom was hilarious!

I love THE END!---gotta be one of the most under-appreciated comedies of
all time!!

I would also love to get HOOPER and SHARKEY'S MACHINE on blu-ray-- these titles aren't even available widescreen on dvd--- just crummy, pan-and-scan
early releases...

I think Burt Reynolds is a victim of making a load of crummy flicks in the mid-
eighties that sank his career after making a lot of great movies the prior
decade.

I agree...except how much of a victim can you be if you agree to do them?

Burt was the man though. His best work was definitely in the 70's and early 80's. If you would have told me back then that he would one day win a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for a movie about the porn industry, I would have said you were nuts. I'm glad to see he's still finding work.

I would love to see Boogie Nights on Blu, with a 7.1 DTS HD master audio soundtrack for the music.
