Default Blu-ray Will Win HDTV DVD Price War

Here is a link to a short video by Swanni over at TV predictions. He is predicting that HDTV player prices will drop below $200 this year. He is also predicting that there is going to be only one HDTV format and by year end it will be the BLU-RAY format as the clear winner.

Just wondering, is this a reputible site? while it is great that blu-ray is winning, just want to have facts to brag about.

Yes TV predictions is as reputable as Twice and Video Business magazine. One can already find HD-DVD players for $299 or lower. Peoples predictions can be wrong. No one has a time machine to see exactly what is really going to happen.
The reason why it is great that BLU-RAY is currently selling more movie titles over HD-DVD is because consumers currently are choosing the better quality format. BLU-RAY has better picture and sound quality then HD-DVD since it has 20GB of more space compared to HD-DVD. Since BLU-RAY has higher bit rates and more room on the disc movies can be made with better picture and sound quality then what the HD-DVD format offers. HD-DVD players are cheaper in price right now but consumers are looking for quality HDTV movies with a bigger movie selection. My prediction is either both formats will coexist with combo players or BLU-RAY will win the format war.
If Universal Studios goes BLU-RAY soon then there is no need for combo players and BLU-RAY wins the format war.

Myeah, although we are very pro BD perhaps...

We have to stay sceptical about everything.
I mean, we're consumers, the company exists for us not the other way around..lol

Fanboys tend to forget that at times imho...
