Mac mini to be discontinued?

I hope this isn't true. It's just the form factor I'm looking for but I want an HDMI-equipped version with Core 2 Duo or better.

If they're killing it off they'd better be replacing it with an even better form factor small Mac.

I think Apple made a mistake by not just adding Apple TV features and functionality to the mac mini FIRST.

I understand why they didn't and that Apple TV is a lower cost, less intimidating appliance for average consumer..but the majority of people interested in this market now would have been more interested in an enhanced multi-media mac mini ..

...they should have seeded the market with those folks and then went after the Apple TV market.

Its too expensive. I actually really like the thing, but the cost is too high.

Very true. By the time a monitor and keyboard/mouse is added, one may as well buy an iMac.

But when Apple release an updated hardware spec it's reasonably good value, no? It's just when they leave the same spec to rot for over 6 months without dropping the price it's too expensive.
