Default Diesel Talks A Third "Riddick" Film

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/135...-riddick-film/

With "The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena" game hitting shelves next month, Vin Diesel says a third movie featuring his iconic anti-hero first seen in "Pitch Black" is in the works.

"Maybe we're too tight-lipped about the next 'Chronicles of Riddick' film, and I think circa the release of [Dark Athena] that's probably when you'll start hearing more about the next 'Riddick' film" he says in an interview with Gamespot.

He adds "It is underway and I almost think it's a coincidence that we haven't heard anything, that there hasn't been a lot of public stuff on the 'Riddick' movie" and confirmed that David Twohy is finishing up the script.

Should be interesting to see, the last film was obviously left open for a sequel.

Hopefully some information will start leaking out soon

hopefully this time the movie will not have stupid lines like..."I haven't smelled beautiful before" and hope to God his acting is better than Chronicles which I'm sure it won't be.

Hollywood is really feeling the effects of a recession now. Cashing in on sequels is just their way doing that catering to their desire for more cash without thinking about anything new or innovative.

I agree especially since Diesel delivered a Hamlet like performance in Pitch Black.

What, pray tell, makes you think that this new Riddick won't be new or innovative?

After all, Chronicles of Riddick was new and innovative compared to Pitch Black.

The first two movies are great! I've always wanted more sequels or pre-quels, just bring em on!

The art design, sets, etc on Chronicles of Riddick are fantastic!

Just found this little tidbit from Diesel:

Quote:
"We're going to find Riddick alone for the first part of the movie, barely alive, surrounded by carnivorous monsters who are trying to eat him," he said. "So you'll see a futuristic Rambo-esque Riddick trying to survive."

Diesel continued: "David Twohy is scripting the next installment of Riddick as we speak, and it's underway. The story will return to a Pitch Black [sensibility] while servicing the mythology that's been enhanced in Chronicles of Riddick.
