Default Videos with multiple Audio tracks in XMB

Since when it's possible to change audio tracks while watching a video in the XMB?
I found out by accident, then i tried successfully with a video that has 6 different audio tracks both with .ts and .m2ts, and it works perfectly.
How come i never heard about this before?

i think he's saying that he listens to 12 songs while watching a video, all at the same time.

to each his own i say.

I believe what he's trying to say is that he tried ripping a DVD video to an MPEG2 transport stream and was surprised that the PS3 allowed him to select alternative language tracks when he played the file.

Exactly!
Of course it works with "AVC H264" videos too.

Okay ill try to explain what I think he said for those that do not understand.

Imagine a video file on your ps3.. imagine the file having different languages for the audio contained in the file such as english, spanish, french...

Imagine that you could hit a single button on the menu and it switched the audio from english to spanish...

This support of more then one audio steam, and changing of audo streams is very suprised to the op.

Im suprised as well as ive never been able to do that.

Similar to muxing subtitles into .m2ts and using the "Subtitles" button. This audio thing is new to me but if there is more than one language I would assume it would work. It does with DVDs and BDs, so why not with video files.

Nice discovery though!

What threw me off (other than the strange wording) was that he brought up XMB™. There is no in-movie XMB™ screen, so I was completely confused.

So you press the Square button to bring up the controls in-movie and then set it from there? PS2 could do that with DVDs (but admittedly not rips), or do you set it on the XMB™ before you even start your movie?

It has to be on the disc. In this case, there are multiple audio in the .m2ts file.

True very strange wording but some people, either english is not there first langauge or they are having difficulties eticulating what they mean.

The best thing is to be patient and usually someone will try to reitterate in a way that is better understood. And at times someone may make that itteration and simplfy it to allow more people to understand the original intention.

I don't know about multi sub but I've made a video with english sub. I'm almost positive it works with multi audio. I'm taking his word for it that it works though.

Hmm well last time I got subs in a video I had to hard encode them into the video file...

This is exactly what i meant, perhaps i didn't explain my-self very good.

@PS3-Playb3yond, the file does not need to be on a disc, it can be copied in the Ps3 HDD.
