Just from a quick glance they seem like an upscaled DVD, or just a really bad BD. They're very blocky, which I imagine is the upscaling at work.

Randomly, Howard the Duck was an answer (or a question, I guess) on Jeopardy! Friday night.

Yep, the pictures look pretty bad to me. I can see plenty of blocking.

Those screen shots are not hi-def. I purchased the DVD of Howard the Duck last Tuesday. I think it was 10 bucks. I watched it last night and thought the PQ was pretty decent. Certainly not Blu-ray quality, but it was certainly watchable. I think it is one of the better looking SD's that I have seen of an older film.

The movie is sooooo bad that it is actually kinda fun to watch. If you are a fan of Howard the Duck, go get it. I doubt that it will be on Blu-ray anytime soon if ever.

I would love to add it to my collection, since it has several more extras than the R2 German release I own.
