Default Almost fell out with Nokia.

I've had Nokia mobiles almost since the start of my mobile life. First was in 1993 and it was a 1611. Since then I've only changed from Nokia twice, once was a Motorola V3688 back in 1999 and a year or so back when I went to Samsung (for a week).

Anyway, I've always found Nokia's so flexible and truly loaded with amazing gubbins but my current one has been nothing short of a travesty, certainly for the last month anyway.

I have an N80 and it's gorgeous and flexible and usuable. But for the last few weeks it has had virtually no signal, texting has become a freeze/crash ridden nightmare and the whole thing has been moving slower than an HD-DVD user's brainwaves.

Despite undertaking a factory reset and repeated reboots, nothing - still rubbish. Then some kind soul pointed out to me that Nokia (like many other electronics companies) issue firmware updates for their phones.

D'UH! I don't know why I didn't think of it!

My phone was on 3. something or other and the latest was 4. something - about 15 firmware updates since the original issue. So I went through the painful process of updating.

Now, it's superb! Super fast, super steady and laden with loads of new applications, options and even fonts.

Top bombing!
