Default The Avengers 1998

I'm a pretty big fan of this film and would pick it up on blu ray for sure. I know there are quite a few scenes that were trimmed out of it before theatrical release as well. It would make a great special edition, IMO.

I'm all for more Uma in HD and it'd be nice to finally see the director's cut.

The Avengers series is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year. It would be great of WB to issue this film on blu ray.

I also am waiting for the 60's tv series to come to blu ray as well. Great show.

I know this movie wasn't successful enough financially to justify it, but I always wanted to see a director's cut of this film as I'd read the end product was about a half hour shorter than the longer version.

Damn that Marvel Avengers causing confusion with this movie.
I'm surprised this hasn't made it to Blu yet in the Avengers country of UK.

BTW: Does anybody know if the DVD was ever re-released in a Keepcase instead of that flimsy cardboard snap-case?

I think all the UK Snapper (and flippers) titles were re-issued in keep-cases. Not sure about the US releases.

I was able to order a new in shrinkwrap version from Amazon.ca -- they do exist. I watched the DVD and admit it was a bit soft in picture and would really benefit from the high-definition treatment to see all the interesting details.

The wait goes on.

Check out the movie tie in novel for the scenes deleted from the theatrical cut.

I picked up the UK DVD too. It does look a little soft but it seems a nice enough transfer.
