Lost perhaps not created by JJ - Read on!

For anybody familiar with British sitcom Only Fools & Horses I was watching the christmas special from 2003 'Sleepless in Peckham' last night and found something very weird. Delboy and Rodney were on the laptop trying to write a screenplay and they had the following idea: The story is set on an island in the pacific and there are a group of scientists and a Jumbo jet but they are not alone on the island, a monster is watching them. Take into account that this episode of OFAH was created 2-3 years before Lost emerged it makes you wonder whether the creators of Lost caught this episode on a trip to the UK and thought 'that might make a good show'. So really the creator of Lost may be infact John Sullivan! Mmm as if Lost wasn't making us think enough anyway!

Even if the show was inspired by that (I'm leaning more towards coincidence), it still wouldn't make John Sullivan the creator of Lost. That'll always be JJ Abrams. Still, that's an interesting find.

There's not one scientist on Oceanic 815 - unless you consider Arzt, a schoolteacher. But there is a science team... they didn't show up until the 4th season though.

"Lost" actually emerged less than a year later not 2-3 years...unless you're from the island and are caught in a time warp yourself.

No idea is created in a total vacuum. It is possible Abrams came across the initial idea from that episode. Obviously the actual show has very little to do with this specific British episode. Did Ben Linus make an appearance on it? The Widmore corporation does have its tentacles everywhere...
