Best DVD Recorder?

I understand this is a Blu-ray site however since to my knowledge no blu-ray recoreders are available in the us I wanted to get opinions on what might be the best available dvd recorder.

I record football games on a dvr then transfer to dvd using a dvd recorder,Im not impressed with the PQ after 1 hr setting and since even with editing commercials a football game broadcast is around 2 1/2 hours which is usually the 3-4 best recording mode reducing PQ greatly.

So I will ask what do you consider the best dvd recorder please give some pro's & cons for the model you suggest.
