Default My Fair Lady Question

I watched this on the newly released Blu Ray yesterday. I know the film very well as my kids love it. However does anyone know if there was a different cut for European Audiences? There were a couple of extra scenes that I had not seen before in the US Blu Ray. If anyone has any info I would really appreciate it.

Default Three minutes difference

The Region 2 40th anniversary DVD is listed as being 170 mins long on amazon.co.uk and the Region A Blu-ray is 173 mins, so you're right - there is some extra footage.

My Fair Lady (1964) is listed as 170mins running time on IMDb. Could the additional 3 minutes be the addition of either the Entr'acte music before the second half of the movie or the Exit Music at the end? There does not appear to be any additional film footage missing.

I believe the extra minutes are because of that yes.

The UK Version I have is 163 mins. The one scene I notice I had not seen before was where they (Harrison/Hyde White and Hepburn)are eating before going to the ball, and the whole ball had a longer scene where they are all whispering that Eliza is a fraud and ends with Harrison laughing. This was not on the UK DVD I have. So was just wondering was there a different cut!

Seriously the Crowd Wispering Scene is not on the European Version That is one of the Pinnacle Scenes in the Film leading up to the you did it number. What an oversight.

Thanks,
T

Thanks for confirming this! Thought I was going mad! I always loved the film and yesterday it just seemed too long. I was not over the moon with the transfer either. If I recall on the Euro DVD the restored opening credits looked amazing. On the Blu Ray they looked rather flat as did a few other scenes. If it comes out in the UK on Blu Ray maybe the transfer will be better. Thanks again!
