Hey guys. Yesterday I bought Pulp Fiction on BD. It's the Scandinavian release, but I feel everyone should be able to read something about how the film is over here, even though it's not out elsewhere. I'm no pro or anything, so I'll just go through the basics. The movie has been around $35 over here, so I never bothered to get it. Maybe sales have been low, since I finally found it at a lovely $18 (at Lefdal in Norway). So the specs: - 2.35:1 - 1080p - 5.1 dts HD - 5.1 DD - 50 gb BD Subtitles: - Norwegian - Swedish - Danish - Finnish Let it be known that I don't have a lot of experience with the DVD versions of the film, so any descriptions are just that. Audio: 3/5 Only listened to the dts HD track. It's not very good, it sounds hollow at times, and you often hear this hollow metallic bang or echo when the volume rises, such as when you hear gunshots and yelling inside. The track is front heavy, with only minimal use of the rear channels. When cars pass, some music etc. are the only audible effects from the rears. Other than this, the sound is crisp and clear, although I thought dialogue was slightly drowned in the beginning. Picture: 3/5 Black levels are okay, the image looks realistic, the colour palette stays neutral if not a bit warm. I couldn't discern any notable film grain (I wasn't looking either), but it doesn't seem like the picture was touched up either. I don't know how the film was shot, but throughout the movie the picture is slightly blurred/veiled. Look at eyebrows, edges of the screen etc, and you know what I mean (lol, most of you probably won't, since you don't have it yet). Looks ok all in all, but what more could you expect from this very excellent B-movie? No extras in the Scandinavian release. No main menu except for choosing language, but there's a pop-up menu offering scene selections, subtitles, audio and such. It's worth it if you can find it decently priced, but definitely not at 35 bucks. Some might say this is worth an instant buy no matter what, and I might agree. If any Scandinavian users have more to add, please do. Questions are also very welcome. Front ![]() Back ![]() |

That was a good read. Thanks. I'm tempted but just might hold off for now.
