Default Does it matter putting subwoofer near main speakers?

I am waiting for the eD A2-300 to be made. But in the mean time, would it matter where I position the subwoofer? I checked people's HT gallery and some place their subwoofer in between their main speaker and the TV. Or some put the subwoofer to the side of the main speaker. Does it damage the speakers if the subwoofer is near it?

put the sub wherever it sounds best to you ! it won't hurt A speaker being close to it !

it really depends on your rooms interaction with it. most people prefer to put it in the front soundstage, others place them towards the listeners area.
all can be found in the guide to subwoofers placement...

it shouldnt damage the speakers at any point. now about the telly, the only chance it would be affected is if its a CRT tv, if i consider your sub to not be magnetically shielded.

Default Subwoofer l Placement l

Hello

Placement of a subwoofer is important; for good sound from the system, especially the subwoofer itself.

You will need test signals and a sound pressure meter to accomplish this properly.

This is just the most basic information to get you going; that is if sound quality is important to your sound system.

Additionally, other issues of importance will be careful and proper selection of the crossover frequency and the location of the loudspeakers as well.

Thank You

if only using 1 sub it is better to place it closer to your front speakers but try to find the sweat spot and make sure you adjust the phase of the sub so it will not cancel out the bass of the other speakers, this will help the sound field, even know the sub non directional it helps the dynamics of the audio when it's closer to the front sound stage.
