Default Have you ever trashed one of your movies?

I'm just curious to see if anyone has ever thrown out any of their movies whether the format is VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray (yeah right) or even Beta. I never have, but then again I've never really been a big collector of any format.

why would you ever throw out a movie

if there are ones i no longer want i either give them away or sell them

(or in the case of my beloved VHS put them in storage where they will probably decay at some point )

Yes, I've thrown out a few movies. I've lost a couple because of heavy use and they get scratched up from constantly being used and mishandled.

I threw out a ton of vhs tapes. After I found out that nearly every vhs taped had been pan and scanned I couldn't bring myself to watch then, got rid of them, bought them on dvd. not going to do that for blu ray though since high quality is cool but not a must have....for me.

I thought I threw out my Clerks DVD when I cleaned out my bedroom one time. Went missing for almost a year until my mother found it in the trunk on our old Nissan. Think I stuffed a bunch of stuff in there in I traded in my car. Instead of taking it into the house I got lazy and stuffed it in the other car.

$20 for a used VHS of Mission Impossible....sounds a little steep to me.
However it does seem a little silly to trash something that you can get a few bucks for.

I was just messing with him. Thought he would respond as soon as I posted it. Guess he didn't I was making it sound like that VHS's were big collector items

I have some 8-tracks that I can sell. $20 opened...or $30 sealed. I'll give you the player for free!

I've thrown away some DVDs, but let's just say they weren't exactly the kind you'd buy in a store. The picture was always darker and blurrier.

I packed up all my VHS tapes in a box a couple years ago, and couldn't convince myself to just throw them away, even though most sell for $2 or less on Half.com/Amazon. So they're stored up in the rafters of the garage for now.

I've had VHS's stop working on me but never DVD's. I actually still have the VHS's that don't work anymore. I should probably throw them out.

I've never had that happen with a tape.
I went to a local electronics store a while back that has been renting VHS since the late 70s or early 80s.
They are selling their entire stock of VHS for $3 apiece,so I picked up a few for nostalgia reasons. One was The River with Mel Gibson.I popped it in,and while it certainly didn't look brand new it actually plays pretty well for a tape that has been used since about '85 or so!
