Default Quantum of Solace quality issues

I purchased Quantum of Solace from Best Buy on Tuesday and returned it because there are 2 (two) white spots like burnt out pixels on the left side throughout the movie. Really show up with dark background and very distracting. I have returned/exchanged it with no problems at Best Buy and the new one is exactly the same.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Gary

Picked my copy up from Fry's. I did not notice anything wrong with the PQ when I watchd it. I will have to rewatch it now to see if I notice them.

that sounds like you may have stuck/dead pixels

have you tried out any other movies on it recently to see if the same problem occurs?

It is not the TV and I have the latest firmware. Player is Samsung 1400 and other movies are no problem.

Just wanted to share this in case it was not isolated, but after 2 with the exact same issue I am sure it is the movie.

try bringing it back once again to recieve a new copy..if the same problem occurs...call samsung...and tell them your player is defective they will most definately fix your player...or even give you a new one...i went through this process with samsung

I believe I have discovered the problem. Problem only occurs when you enter the movie thru the scene mode by picking a particular scene to watch. When playing the movie from the beginning with the play button there are no white spots. Problem was discovered last night when we stopped the movie and then returned later to watch the balance and we had white spots because we started the movie by picking the scene where we ended previously.

Otherwise the movie is outstanding.

its pretty easy i could see 2 missing pixels on my 32" lcd during last years ncaa tounament (because certain cameras were missing pixels not my tv)from like 15 or 20 feet away. when the pixels went by a solid color (other than like white) then you can see it easy.. and i used to have a 42" plasma for a couple weeks but it had a stuck/dead bright red pixel and with a dark scene im sure i couldve seen it 40 yards away if i had the room lol

Sony Pictures has had this problem once before. But it's not a big deal IF you know what causes it. Basically, the Java programming didn't totally remove the overlay graphic for the pop-up menu. So if you need to find a particular chapter, use the chapter skip button or go to the main menu.

You might want to tell Sony Pictures about it though. That way subsequent pressing will not have this problem.

Default two specks

AHHHHH

I started a thread about this called Two specks on Quantum of Solace. The chapter thing is news to me, I hope that solves it. Two specks in the exact same place. I had my copy and a netflix copy (long story) and they were there- in the same space. I thought dead pixels But I've watched other movies and hd cable- no dead pixels.

This is a glitch in the blu-ray, and I wouldn't be surprised if the S#@T hits the fan. Its not a quality thing, but a glitch.

I did not make the connection to searching through chapters. I will re-watch and let it play through. By the way, I think the picture quality and audio are amazing. (Besides the two phantom specks)

I think it may actually be two groups of pixels, they are pretty easy to see and they reverse color to what is around them. (not dead) Usually just white.
