Can I watch Bonus Digital Copy movies on my PLAYSTATION® 3? Yes. First follow the provided instructions to transfer the movie onto a Memory Stick PRO DuoTM loaded in your PSP® system. Then load your memory stick into your PLAYSTATION® 3 system. From your PlayStation® 3, navigate to the VIDEO section, select the Memory Stick option, and select the movie to start playback. If you have the 20GB PLAYSTATION®3 with no Memory Stick slot: Confirm your PLAYSTATION®3 firmware is 1.60 or later (get an update here). Connect your PlayStation® Portable (PSP®) (with Memory Stick inside) to your PLAYSTATION® 3 with a USB cable. Select "USB Connection" under "Settings" on the PSP® system. Navigate to the "Video" section of your PLAYSTATION®3. Select "PSPTM (PlayStationPortable) Your PSP®'s Nickname" option. Select the Movie name to start playback. link-- http://www.sonypictures.com/resident...scopy/faq.html So... you have to have a PSP and I don't imagine anyone does this anyway since digital copies would be better suited for the PSP than the PS3 but ,... whatever. -Brian |

Regardless if its possible like others have said why would you want it on your PS3 when you have the ability to watch it in high def? But while I do not use digital copies myself I do feel it should be a standard to make them all PSP compatible I don't understand why they all aren't. I guess Sony is praying UMD will still take off.

When network infrastructure reaches a point where downloadable and streaming content is able to compete with blu-ray quality wise.... and that day will come eventually.... downloadable content will then have a huge leg up on blu-ray simply for it's ease of access. Blu-ray can take that advantage away now if they just allow us the option to either watch films directly from the disc..... or as a digital transfer that exists on our home network. Think about how much easier/sexier it would be to be able to scroll through your entire film catalogue on the big screen... complete with cover pics and movie descriptions.... and then just hitting the play button when you decide what to watch. Network enabled blu-ray players, such as the PS3, are already primed to provide such a service. All that would be required is a firmware update to allow the transfer, allow access to a network hdd, and provide a catalogue application. I don't mind buying the discs... and would probably continue to buy the discs even after internet infrastructure makes other delivery methods a viable competitor.... just so I could have a hard copy on hand. Just allow me a legal and user friendly option to enjoy the media I have purchased in the manner that I consider to be most user friendly. If the blu-ray folks never come to their senses and give us this option.... I will switch to whatever streaming/download method first gives me high quality video and audio.... the very instant it hits the scene and never look back. |

If downloadable films come to the point of matching what a Blu-ray has to offer...which even if it does the file sizes would be ridiculous and would take forever to download considering the average internet speed...they better be significantly cheaper. The average person is not going to shell out $25 for a download of a single movie.
