United Kingdom Pre-Oscars Blu-ray marathons?

Hey all,

Just wondered if anybody else is having/planning an Oscar-themed movie marathon this weekend?

I'm currently 2 films through a 3 movie session - I've gone for Best Picture Winners from 3 decades:

The 40s - THE LOST WEEKEND (1945, 18th Winner)
The 50s - FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (1953, 26th Winner)
The 60s - IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT (1967, 40th Winner)

I chose those 3 as I hadn't seen any of them and I'm on a mission to watch all 85 Winners (I've seen all the Nominees for the 86th) - FROM HERE TO ETERNITY has taken me up to #50!

Only 35 to go...

Have a good weekend everybody!

Enjoy, but might be worth being mildly selective and see the majority rather than all 85, as the academy has awarded best picture to some shockers over the years.

It's still interesting to see all 85 even though some might not have been close to being the best of the year. I have seen 74/85 so I will probably have seen them all before the end of the year.

Don't have the time, or the inclination tbh. However, I may watch Gravity or Captain Phillips again tonight, but that's just a coincidence

Not really a marathon, but I always watch one nominated film (this year Captain Phillips) and one previous winner (this year Wings).

Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking... Its an interesting journey through film history.

It's a shame there are a number (15 by my reckoning) still not available on Blu-Ray...

Is that the Masters of Cinema release of WINGS? I picked it up recently and had intended to watch it before Sunday... What did you think of it?
