In the tradition of great screen conmen-one of the few with a visible tail- TOP CAT holds a top spot in the hearts of classic animation fans. The second of Hanna-Barbera’s prime-time network animated sitcoms, TOP CAT debuted on ABC television on Wednesday September 27, 1961. The series only ran for one season in prime-time, but continued to be popular through a mix of continued Saturday morning network reruns and syndication for more than three decades thereafter. Arnold Stang provided the voice of the smooth-talking New York City cat, known as T.C. to his gang of cohorts Benny the Ball, Choo Choo, Spook, The Brain and Fancy Fancy. These cats were always on the make toward a big score or swindle. And the bothersome – and ever exasperated- Office Dibble (voiced by legendary character actor Allen Jenkins) is relentlessly on Top Cat’s case (although always one step behind). This 4-disc Blu-ray set contains all 30 original episodes, newly remastered in 1080p HD from 4K scans off the original camera negatives, with the series offering top-shelf entertainment for fans. More than 60 years after it debuted, TOP CAT continues to be a comic delight of animated fun for audiences of all ages.

This is a classic show I am picking this up day one without a doubt used to watch this quite a bit on Boomerang years ago going to love having the entire series in HD. For me it has always been Top Cat>Yogi Bear all the way. I still need to pick up Jonny Quest too on Blu-Ray as well later this year. I hope we get Huckleberry Hound next as that’s also another classic HB show that I watched on Boomerang too. I think George is definitely working on Huckleberry Hound currently which wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Top Cat, but especially Wacky Races, are Hanna-Barbera cartoons that I feel have achieved far more iconic status here in Brazil than in the US. I know it's unrealistic to expect this, but the inclusive of the fantastic brazilian dub would be so welcome.

By the way, hasn't Wacky Races shown up in Full HD in MeTV recently? Hope a blu-ray of that whole series doesn't take long!

The PR says it was their 2nd Primetime show

Jerry Beck mentioned (at 5:39 in the video) that Warner is restoring its animation library for MeTV Toons.

Top Cat is one of MeTV Toons' inaugural shows, so the new channel was likely the catalyst for this release.

MeTV Toons is running a new restoration of Wacky Races on weekday mornings, so you might very well be right.

MeTVToons is airing a whole lotta cartoons, so here's hopings we get a loot of surprises and not just a few.

I'd love to see Tiny Toons and Animaniacs finally in HD, that is, if they ever air on MeTV Toons. I mean, Freakazoid and Histeria do. They're short series, but I don't think they've been remastered for this..

In Mexico, the original spanish dub made it a cult item. The Flintstones set included the spanish dub. Let's see if they include it here. If they do, they'll make a HUGE mint in my country among Gen-Xers. However, I can't find confirmation anywhere.

Flintstones was a general WB release, this is Warner Archive. Doubt it'll have Spanish, THEN again, the Warner Archive Looney Tunes discs have Spanish, so..
