Default Pioneer 1018 Problems

For those of you who have read my previous woes with my receiver this is the new chapter...

Hooked the receiver back up to my DLP after it was "serviced" by Best Buy.
However, when I select any video source to output to the tv I simply get green. Some flickering then back to green.

I tried another newer tv (Samsung LCD) and that worked just fine.

I've tried to adjust the video parameters within the receiver from outputting AUTO to 1080i ( as that is what my display is). But I cannot select the RES option that is indicated in the manual. I can't select any different settings other than the first option.

Both TVs are 720/1080i it's just my main tv won't display anything.
I've tried different cables, etc... to no avail.

Any ideas for those of you who have this model receiver ?

I'd like to figure this out soon instead of having to call Pioneer tomorrow morning.

Please...

I'm reading on other sites that this may be an issue of HDMI version incompatiablity...

Any ideas as to a workaround (if any) as my tv is about 3-4 years old...

Component cables? That would be the next thing I would try.

I had thought of that after I posted. I suppose that will be what I try later tonight. Since I have a 1080i display, will there be much (if any) quality loss by using component cables instead of HDMI?

This of course is a temporary work around, besides taking the receiver back to the store or buying a new tv (immediately).

I was thinking of trying to get an HDMI switcher (last resort) to see if that would do anything to make the signal viable. At this point I'm willing to spend another $20 to see.

If it's saying "multichannel', it may have been reassigned to your analog ins. Try checking the input port assignment

The receiver has been reset to factory defaults. I can output a BD video signal from the receiver to my newer LCD, but not to my primary DLP.

I simply get green flashing and then solid green on my DLP.

I just find it odd that I can plug both my DVR and BD player direct into the TV through HDMI and it works fine, but once I try to run that signal through the receiver and then back to the tv I get the above mentioned error.

Any way to get an older version HDMI to work with 1.3 ??

I suppose I'll buy two different kinds of HDMI switches in hopes that maybe, just maybe that might get it to work... This has been an odd error to say the least
